A Research Document and Animated film by Femke Janssen
Conclusion
Making this film and addressing the topic of relationships between humans and other living beings has been a valuable and rewarding experience. My film manages to explore this topic in a poetic way, suited for a young audience. Hereby I aim to denormalize the objectification and muting of other living beings, in the hope to raise the value of these species. Also, to put the focus on equity rather than equality. Just because something is of the same value doesn’t mean it needs the same treatment.
I argue it is highly upsetting that the anthropocentric viewpoint of the 21st century human being often tends to decrease the value of other living beings, and therefore, through this project, I want to encourage my audience to become aware of how they look at other living beings. .
